Myna

OUR MODEL

We don’t see women’s agency as a single outcome—it’s a cycle.
A woman who can access healthcare is more likely to do paid work; a woman with financial independence is more likely to become digitally literate; and digital inclusion can empower women to seek healthcare and employment.
Our model leverages these interconnections to drive lasting change while our research tests which pathways create the strongest impact.

How do we increase women’s agency?

We meet women where they are—whether in their communities or online through a simple process.

Step 1

Identify Nisha through Surveys

Myna Mahila begins by identifying Nisha—a young woman in need of support—through extensive community surveys, outreach in schools and colleges, and direct door-to-door engagement.

With a strong presence in urban poor communities across Mumbai, we systematically survey hundreds of underserved clusters to pinpoint areas where women face the greatest barriers to healthcare, education, and employment

Step 2

EducatE Nisha through an Agency Program at Empowerment Hubs

The Speak Myna program provides in-depth sessions on tackling taboos and fostering open conversations. Through schools, colleges, and communities, we educate women on sexual and reproductive health, challenge taboos, and promote aspirations. Participants receive awareness, training, and health kits to empower informed decision-making.
